Joining Merton 

You have completed Step 1 of the application process.

We just need a few more details at step 2 and then payment of your subscription, so you could be a member in less than five minutes from now.

To keep our membership and subscription records, we use a website service called Beacon, which was built by and for UK u3a organisations. Beacon uses PayPal (one of the oldest and best-known web payment options around) to handle online payments. The folks at PayPal are naturally eager for everyone to open a PayPal account, so they make it appear the only way to proceed, but you do not have to create a PayPal account to pay your u3a subscription. Of course, if you already have a PayPal account you can use it to pay your subscription, and if you want to create an account you can.

If you DON'T want to create a PayPal account

When you reach the PayPal screen,

 

• Click on Pay by Debit or Credit Card

• To avoid unintentionally creating a PayPal account, uncheck Save information & create your PayPal account

• The Pay now as guest button should appear

• Click Pay now as guest to enter your card details and pay.
