"GREEN" WALKS IN OR NEAR LONDON
Walks are generally 4 to 6 miles in length and taken at about 2 mph. The organiser tries to vary them as much as possible - park, tow-path, wood etc. The group is friendly and relaxed, and walks fairly briskly, but stops to note points of interest and indulge in a sense of history.
Walks are on a Sunday, monthly starting at 11.00 am from an underground or railway station, with a variable finish point, and there is a programme of walks. This is an established group who are expected to attend on a fairly regular basis, and certainly to let the organiser know if they cannot come - so that the others are not kept waiting for them.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Abou
t 70% of groups have been running for some time and seem likely to continue, but there are always new ones emerging. Information about this and other news is published in a Newsletter that comes out about every two months and on our web site. Members can also ring the Chairman or Study groups co-ordinator.
Be prepared for exciting new courses at any time.
GROUPS
Most groups meet fortnightly or monthly, though Bank Holidays can disrupt the sequence. Most groups close for the summer months of July and August, and some courses only run for a limited period.
Study Groups mostly meet in private houses by courtesy of the hosts and hostesses and are limited in size by the room available. Some events take place at Drake House, (which is part of the Wimbledon Guild, and at the Southwestern end of the extension of St George's Road in Central Wimbledon). Other events may be held at the Red Cross building next to the Guild on Worple Road.
Nearly all activities are in the daytime and rarely at week-ends.
START YOUR OWN GROUP
Experienced members report that thinking up a new group activity is more rewarding than enjoying ideas that others have developed! So if you haven't tried it - be bold and have a go. We have a leaflet to inspire you to action. Ring the study groups organiser if you wish to discuss it.
